Originaire de l'Outaouais, Rachel Cameron a écrit ce premier roman à 16 ans, après s'être lancé le défi d'en écrire un dans le cadre de son projet personnel au sein du Programme d'éducation internationale. Elle poursuit présentement ses études au Cégep de l'Outaouais en sciences de la nature.
